As we both get back into school, we figured the best topic would be discussing everything we learned about healthy living in elementary school up until the end of middle school. We skipped over high school because let’s be honest, no one gave a shit about our health in high school.
Growing up, I think we both thought half of these programs were bullshit and we just did it because it was fun and nothing more. However, a prevailing public health issue that exists throughout the U.S. is the overall health of kids, and these programs are meant to be preventative measures. So, being the researchers we are, we decided to look more deeply into these very programs we grew up with, such as D.A.R.E, and discuss whether they really do contribute to helping today’s kids stay healthy and active.
